It started with one person’s desire to contribute to a family with a need for meals, 30 Blessings is a ministry that encompasses serving multiple families knowing that food has a substantial impact on individuals besides satiating hunger.
Matthew 25:35-40 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[f] you did it to me.’.
Our mission is to sow graciously and give sufficiently by blessing and nourishing our community.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his hear, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Our vision is to be generous stewards by enlisting the community and those we serve in preparing and providing nutritious meals to our neighbors.
Deuteronomy 15: 7-8 If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother, but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.
1Peter 4:8-11 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
Why and How it Works: Since the beginning of time, food has been a fundamental human need and often a vital element in social interaction throughout the world. It is our desire to extend and experience true life using 30 Blessings to demonstrate love, support and unity within our community. On a quarterly basis, 30 Blessings volunteers use fresh ingredients to prepare 30 uncooked freezable entrées for each recipient. Each entrée includes the ingredients, instructions, and list of suggested side dishes.
Genesis 9:3 ESV Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.
Acts 2:2 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
In 2019, 30 Blessings dispersed approximately 1,200 meals. By God’s grace along with the assistance of other churches, volunteers, and local businesses, we hope to continue to evolve and multiply year over year so that within a few years, we are collectively distributing approximately 5,000 meals per year and impacting the lives of so many within our community.
2 Corinthians 9:8 -ESV – And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
Malachi 3:10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heave for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
